VERITYCON 23: NAVIGATING THE DISINFORMATION ERA 

Our President and Founder, Mr. Jan Cingel, participated in VerityCon23, which took place in Tirana, Albania,  from November 14 – 16, 2023.

The VerityCon23, organized by the Western Balkans Fund, is a joint effort of governments in the region, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. It plays a key role in promoting people-to-people relations and addressing current challenges.

The conference brought together experts from the Western Balkans, the Visegrad Group (V4), and other countries. Through this initiative, a platform is being created for experts to exchange experiences, build mutual understanding, and address critical issues affecting our societies. This year’s focus was on combating misleading information, misinformation, and fake news – topics that significantly affect the well-being of our communities.

Mr. Cingel spoke in a panel on „Digital Safety & Disinformation“, where he presented the results of our project on disinformation in WesternBalkans that we are implementing together with partners from WB6 and Visegrad 4 countries under the leadership of the Euro-Atlantic Council of North Macedonia. He spoke about media literacy and digital safety in the Western Balkans based on the policy paper prepared by the working group under his leadership within that project.
